A network of Fibre Bragg Grating sensors was installed on a newly constructed 4-storey apartment building, situated in N. Psichiko, Greece.
The sensors were manufactured by the CRD Group (CRD-mountable) and were placed on the construction’s most critical areas, as indicated by the construction’s seismic analysis.
CRD-mountable’s length customization options allowed the sensors to be covered with aluminum boxes, which were painted afterwards to match the building’s colors.
Data measurements are recorded and analysed on a regular bases, providing in this way the building with constant Structural Health Monitoring. The CRD Group’s engineers are therefore able to detect any structural abnormalities and repair them before structural failures appear.
